Waterproofing
Crystalline Waterproofing Treatment
Permanent, self-sealing waterproofing that grows into the concrete.
Overview
A brushable cementitious slurry containing active crystalline chemicals that penetrate deep into the concrete capillary network and react with calcium hydroxide and water to form insoluble crystals. The crystals physically block water pathways and — uniquely — continue to grow throughout the life of the structure whenever moisture is present, effectively self-sealing future hairline cracks. Unlike surface-applied membranes, the crystalline treatment becomes integral to the concrete matrix and cannot delaminate, be damaged by backfill, or punctured by construction traffic.
Key benefits
- ▸Self-sealing chemistry — active crystals grow to seal new hairline cracks over the structure's entire lifetime
- ▸Becomes integral to concrete — cannot delaminate, peel, blister, or be punctured
- ▸Withstands hydrostatic pressure from both positive and negative sides
- ▸Effective in permanently saturated conditions where surface membranes cannot adhere
- ▸Available as concrete admixture or surface-applied treatment
- ▸Reduces concrete permeability and improves resistance to aggressive ground chemicals
Applications
- Water-retaining structures and underground concrete tanks
- Basement and foundation waterproofing applied from the negative side
- Tunnel linings and below-grade concrete infrastructure
- Concrete permeability reduction and durability upgrading
